3 Day Directing Workshop – Directing the Actor/ Method Training

Afilm offers an intensive, 3 day English language Directing workshop, aimed at directors, filmmakers and students, with Yolanda Torres – Co-founder of Afilm, Head of Studies, Filmmaker.

Directing Workshop-

Yolanda has made films with Oliver Stone, José Luis Garci and Roger Corman.  A member of Women in Film, Los Angeles, Yolanda received her B.A. from UCLA’s Film and Television program (University California, Los Angeles), then was accepted as a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute (Los Angeles) and finally into Producing at EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, MEDIA, Luxembourg).

She has directed and produced 11 feature films and many television programs, including: The Supers, The Forsaken and The Afterglow (Premiers, Sitges International Film Festival).   Yolanda has taught Directing, Producing, and Screenwriting for many years, including at the University of Barcelona.

Directing Workshop-

Veronica McKenzie, Writer/Director of the upcoming feature film “Nine Nights” trains with actors from Actors One Agency, including Sarah Tyler Shaw, Ian Breeds, and Lena Martinez.

Advanced auditioning techniques that will land you the actor right for the role.  What to look for in an audition.

Create a Scene Strategy that will best prepare both actors and directors for rehearsal.

Rehearsal techniques which will help you develop a vocabulary that actors understand and get the best performance in a limited time.

Blocking techniques that create truthful and dramatic scenes, where to best place the camera to capture the action beat by beat, using coverage to heighten the drama.

What actors need from the director to develop character and performance- Scene work with professional actors.
