INTRODUCTION TO SOUND DESIGN
afilm presents an INTRODUCTION TO SOUND DESIGN. This three day Workshop is designed to give students an over-view of the Art of Sound Design, with an emphasis on cinema.
The Workshop is designed for, but not limited to, film and audio students, the sound department in general, independent directors and producers, a well as television and advertising crew members who wish to gain knowledge into the world of cinema.
The Workshop will consist of lectures and demonstrations on the world of Sound Design, and will include a series of practical design assignments to be carried out during the workshop.
The following subjects will be covered:
-Sound Work-flow/ Process -Sound Department Communication/ responsibility breakdown
-The Sound Designer: Job description, Training, Responsibilities -Software/ Hardware analysis
-Theory of Sound Design/ Scene Analysis -Analysis exemplary films -Libraries/ Internet
-Practical Scene Sound Design exercises -Basic Foley Techniques
The Workshop will be lead by Javier Ortega, Sound Designer and Composer.
