FEATURE FILM SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP:
The Art and Business of Screenwriting
afilm offers an intensive, hands-on English language feature film screenwriting workshop, focusing on the art and business of feature film screenwriting. The workshop will be held Saturdays, so each week students can complete the work assigned for the following workshop day. Each student, who actively participates, will begin a first draft of a feature film screenplay.
The workshop will be lead by a feature film development specialist and Story Editor/ Script Doctor.
WORKSHOP CONTENT:
ACT I - Concept to Synopsis to Outline
-Introduction to feature film screenwriting/ The quest for, evaluation of and development of ideas (premise)/ Synopsis / Character development/ The three act structure / The Storyline/ The outline / Box office, financial considerations
ACT II - Outline to Treatment
-Polishing the outline/ Further character development/ The treatment/ Dialogue basics
ACT III - Treatment to First Draft
-Developing the treatment/ Rhythm and structure/ The first draft/ The re-write
