afilm presents an INTRODUCTION TO COSTUME DESIGN by Milan-based designer Letizia Serio. This three day Workshop is designed to give students an over-view of the Art of Costume Design, with an emphasis on cinema.
The Workshop is designed for, but not limited to, film and fashion students, the art department in general (including production designers and art directors) independent directors and producers, a well as television and advertising crew members who wish to gain knowledge into the world of cinema.
The Workshop will consist of lectures and demonstrations on the world of Costume Design, and will include a series of practical design assignments to be carried out during the workshop as well as after hours.
The following subjects will be covered:
-Costume History -Costume Department Communication/ responsibility breakdown
-The Costume Designer: Job description, Training, Responsibilities -Costume “work-flow”
-Theory of Costume Design/ Character Analysis -Analysis exemplary films
-Basic Sketching Techniques
