THE ACTOR’S SHOWREEL + HEADSHOT WORKSHOP
An intense, five day English language acting workshop designed for actors seeking to improve the tools of their trade, including their resumes, showreels/ videobooks and headshots/ photos. Conceived for small groups, permitting a dynamic, efficient working pace.
Actors will prepare, rehearse, refine and record monologues and duologues. Performance and dialogue work will be wide and varied. The subtlety of subtext, gesture and speech are focused upon in isolation and as a whole. Explore what really works in the language of film and how to use it to your full advantage in front of the camera.
Each actor will have an individual make-up session with a professional make-up artist followed by a headshot/ photo session. Next, they will perform the scene/s prepared, which will be shot and edited to form a showreel/ videobook. Upon completion of the workshop, each performer will receive a dvd copy of their showreel/ videobook, including headshots/ photos. Actors will also receive hands-on, practical training on how to present their resume.
ROB BATEMAN
The workshop is led by Rob Bateman. A graduate of The London Academy of Performing Arts, Rob has worked at RADA, The Actors Centre and the National Youth Theatre and has directed various productions on the fringe circuit in London and Edinburgh. His theatre experience includes The Shaftesbury Theatre in London's west end, Covent Garden Theatre, and The Royal Opera House.
