afilm is pleased to offer Director/ Writer/ Actress Amy Blaise’s three day Casting Workshop. Auditioning is one of the scariest and most important parts of the acting process. You only have a short period of time to show what you can do and between nerves and dealing with an unfamiliar script you are not always at your best.
Designed for small groups, this three-day workshop will help you break down a scene, making the script disappear. Simulate casting sessions using a variety of different scripts while learning how to be both truthful and effective within a short and stressful timeframe.
The improvisation sessions will teach you how to think on your feet. In scene work you will learn how be “in the moment” and to focus on your acting partner.
Learn technical film language and the difference between acting for film and theatre. Prepare and analyze a monologue that will then be filmed professionally so you can go home with a DVD for your show reel.
Workshop casting sessions will be recorded for analysis. Upon completion of the Workshop, actors will receive a dvd copy of their work, for use in their showreels.
